Cynthia Louise “Cindy” Brown (born on the 16th of March 1965) is a former American basketball player for women, in the NCAA, Olympic and professional levels. Brown was a part of the USA Basketball team which went to take home an Olympic silver medal in the Pan American Games in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1987, and the gold medal at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. Brown was also a part of the team with the gold medal for the USA in the 1985 World University Games, and the 1986 World Championship team.

The WNBA assigned Brown with the Detroit Shock prior to the 1998 season. In her debut campaign with the Shock she was ranked 2nd in WNBA in rebounding. She also was selected on the All-WNBA First Team. Brown broken the Shock record for franchise records in the Shock’s game against Utah on August 10 , scoring 21 rebounds during an opponent game Utah (a record that Cheryl Ford tied on June 22nd, 2003 in Connecticut in Connecticut, and that Ford broke on May 22, 2004, when she grabbed 22 boards in San Antonio).

On the 29th of July 1999, just halfway through the second WNBA season Brown had been traded together with Korie Hlede to the Utah Starzz, for Wendy Palmer and Olympia Scott-Richardson. Brown was a part-time player in just 9 games for Utah before she resigned from the WNBA after the 1999 season.

The girl was raised from Portland, Oregon, Brown played basketball at Long Beach State University between 1983 until 1987. As an undergraduate, she set two NCAA scoring records: the highest number of points in one season (974) and the highest number of points in one match (60). The 60-point game was played against San Jose State, a game that Long Beach won at 149-69. Brown was part of the Final Four All-Tournament team in 1987. He also earned first-team All- America recognition in 1987 and 1986.

Before she even made it in to Long Beach, however, Brown was signed by an opponent team in the WNBA.
