Christopher Peacocke is one of the most popular and richest Philosopher who was born on May 22, 1950 in United Kingdom. Christopher Arthur Bruce Peacocke (born 22 May 1950) is a British philosopher who is known by his contributions to the field of philosophy of the mind as well as epistemology. Recent publications in the field of epistemology have been defending a particular version of rationalism.
In his book from 1992, A Study of Concepts, Peacocke offers a comprehensive explanation of a philosophical concept of concept possession that states that the nature and identity requirements for concepts could be determined in a non-circular fashion through the conditions that the thinker must satisfy in order to have the concept in question. The theory is a variant of a “conceptual” or “inferential role” theory of concepts.
in Sense and Content, Peacocke believed that the content that is intended in mental states is solely abstract content i.e. the content is so that the person experiencing the state must possess the entire set of concepts that define the intended content. Since 1986 and beyond, Peacocke abandoned this assumption by arguing that some mental states, such as perception and representational states that are involved in subpersonal information processing (for instance, the unconscious parsing of speech) are non- conceptual in their content. Peacocke is often regarded as the leading advocate of this idea of intentional non-conceptual content.

He cites three distinct examples of situations in which intentional content alone is not able to capture all aspects that is part of an experience. The aspects that are not captured by intentional content are believed to represent the sensational aspects associated with the event. A few of those who support qualia have cited these instances as proof of their existence. Philosophers have been critical of these instances (Michael Tye and Fred Dretske), insisting that the supposed additional quality could be interpreted by referring to deliberate content.
