Christine Collister (born 28 December 1961) is an Manx blues, folk as well as jazz singer and songwriter. Her birthplace and raised in Manx on the Isle of Man and first was noticed in 1986 as the performer of the theme tune for the BBC’s TV adaptation of the book by Fay Weldon The Life and Loves of a She-Devil.
In 2007 Collister left the UK and then returned in the Isle of Man, and since 2015, she has been performing as a collaborator alongside Australian guitar player Michael Fix. They recorded their debut album Shadows and Light in 2017 and performed a tour around the release in the same year, as well as in 2018 and 2018, including Port Fairy, Cobargo and Illawarra festivals in Australia as well as two-week tours across the UK. In October the band launched their new album North & South and embarked on a tour of 15 dates of the UK as well as a 20-date tour in Australia set for the beginning of 2020.
In 1996 the band recorded and tour with the all-female ensemble Daphne’s Flight and, in 2017 they celebrated the 21st anniversary in Daphne’s Flight, regrouping to make and tour around the second album, The album is called Knows Time, also known as Know’s The Change (Fledgling). The result was the creation of a new album set to release in May 2020. The album will be accompanied by festivals and a tour already scheduled.

In 1985 Collister joined Richard Thompson Band as a backing vocalist. She sang along with Thompson on several songs that were previously performed as duets with her ex-wife as well as former co-worker Linda Thompson. Collister was in the band during four seasons, supplying vocals on six albums , and taking part in numerous world concerts. After that, she worked for seven years with songwriter, singer and guitarist Clive Gregson. The group released five albums, beginning with their debut and most profitable record, Home and Away. After being out of the market for a few years The albums were released in 2010 on CD.
Collister has released numerous solo albums from 1994 onwards and has released several solo albums, including Live, Blue Aconite, Dark Gift of Time and the compilation CD Songbird all for Fledgling Records, and An Equal Love and Into The Light for Topic Records. Collister has collaborated with Isle of Man-based Stereo Scout Records, part of the Running Media Management Group, together with whom they recorded live record titled Home in 2004. She also released her 20th Anniversary DVD titled XX in 2005. She also released an album of her own which include Under Construction (volumes 1 and 2) and Feminine Logic. Collister also released a highly acclaimed album on vinyl, for high-end producer REGA which was titled Love. The album was comprised of mostly cover songs that included songs of Jim Croce, Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell, as well as a cover that was a cover of”Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. Leonard Cohen song, “Hallelujah”.
She was invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London on the 30 September 2019 in a concert celebrating the 70th birthday of Richard Thompson, along with David Gilmour, Martin Carthy, Eliza Carthy, Hugh Cornwell, Olivia Chaney, Maddie Prior, Loudon Wainwright III, Teddy Thompson, Kami Thompson, Danny Thompson, Dave Mattacks, Judith Owen, and many others. Collister proved a highlight of the evening with the Financial Times reviewer reporting ” ..best of all perhaps was Thompson and Collister reviving the protest ballad ‘Sweetheart On the Barricade’… ” and… “Collister with Thompson on ‘Ghosts in the Wind’ was a thrilling highlight …”
