She was an assistant researcher, research assistant, deputy librarian, and hotel maitre d’ at the Chinese restaurant to help her husband during Harvard Law School. The couple has two children: Lesley (Ma Wei-chung ), Ma Wei Zhong ) and Kelly (Ma Yuan-chung, Ma Yuan Zhong ). Lesley was born in the year 1980 at New York City when Ma was studying at Harvard and she finished her undergraduate studies within Harvard University in the fall of 1980 and currently now a doctoral student studying at New York University. The daughter who is younger, Kelly, was born in Taiwan and is pursuing bachelor’s degree at Brown University in Rhode Island.
Ma worked at her company, the Mega International Commercial Bank in Taiwan as a legal officer. Following Ma won the presidential election, she announced that she would carry on her job.
