Adams received media attention after the July 26th incident that killed Zachary Hammond in Seneca. Hammond’s family demanded to be taken off the case because of an apparent conflict of interest. After an investigation conducted by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), Adams declined to release the dashcam recording of the incident and also released texts with the suspect’s girlfriend that involved an illicit drug transaction.
