Christopher Keith Sampson (born May 23rd 1978) is a American Former Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher. He was a student at Texas Tech University, where he was a player in the Red Raiders. Sampson is 6 feet and 1 inch (1.83 meters).

The year 2003 was the first time Sampson reached out to the Astros to test out as an pitcher. Astros Director of Operations Tim Purpura was impressed with Sampson’s ability to pitch as he signed him up to a minor league deal. Sampson was able to develop as a pitcher. He impressed the Astros by performances in Triple A Round Rock Express in the beginning of the 2006 season with 7-1 record and 2.64 ERA in 10 starts. The Astros were impressed by his performance and the Astros signing Sampson’s contract June 1st June 1, 2006. Sampson made his debut the following day, when he was a part of a blowout game with the Houston Astros against the Cincinnati Reds as a replacement for the starting pitching Wandy Rodriguez.

Coming out of spring training, Sampson was named the 5th starter in the Astros rotation for the 2007 season. He remained with the Astros through the 2010 season when he became a free agent.

On April 23, 2011, Sampson signed a minor league contract with the Florida Marlins.

Sampson made his debut Major League start for the Astros on the 7th of June the 7th of June. He pitched a no-hitter in the fifth inning before he allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings pitched to a 1-0 victory against The Chicago Cubs. In the game, he registered zero strikeouts. the 16 batters he removed were killed by ground balls. The only hit came from the Brad Ausmus home run.
