Chopy was a supporter of Chopy voted in 2009 for the Democratic Society Party DTP (the present BDP Peace and Democracy Party) in a formal message to their leader Ahmet Turk, in which she stated that she would do all she can to promote the peaceful resolution of the Kurdish problem within Turkey (North- Kurdistan). “As a Kurdish artist I want to show my support to the solution of the Kurdish question in North-Kurdistan (Southeast Turkey).” Chopy has stated that she will perform gratis concerts to Diyarbakir (Amed), Cizir, Batman and other cities in support of peace. Chopy was among the Kurdish performers who performed at performances across Iraqi Kurdistan to raise money for the Kurdish victims of the Van earthquake which hit the city in the southeastern part of Turkey in the month of October (2011 Van earthquake). On the 21st March 2013, she performed at The Turkish Kurdistani city of Diyarbakir (Amed) in the presence of 2 million people to advocate for justice and peace for Kurds who live in Turkey.

In October 2013, Chopy was selected as the Kurdish flag-bearer at the One Young World Summit’ in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was the first time that the Kurdish flag was raised for the first time raised at the event, along with the flags from 190 other nations who attended the summit.
