Cheri Rodgers Gerou (born on March 2nd 1956, in Casper, Wyoming) is a American politician and architect who was an Republican within the General Assembly of the U.S. state of Colorado. She was first appointed to the Colorado House of Representatives as an Republican at the time of 2008 Gerou was a member of House District 25 which includes the western part of Jefferson County, Colorado. Gerou currently serves as director for Capital Assets at the University of Colorado.

In 2009’s session of the legislature, Gerou was named to positions for the House Finance Committee and the House Health and Human Services Committee.

In the 2012 General Election, Representative Gerou faced Democratic challenger Lorna Idol and Libertarian Jack Woehr. Gerou was reelected by a margin of 55% to 40% to 5%.

In 2014, Gerou did not run for reelection. She was succeeded by Republican attorney and veteran Jon Keyser.

Gerou did not face opposition at his Republican primaries in the month of August but he was challenged by Democrat Andrew Scripter and Libertarian Jack Woehr in the November general election of 2008. Gerou’s campaign was endorsed by both the Golden Transcript and the Denver Post. Gerou was elected to the traditional Republican seat that was previously filled by Rep. Rob Witwer, who had decided to not run a second term. Gerou received 54 percent of all votes cast and winning by 10.

Growing up in Wyoming Gerou emigrated to Colorado in the year 1975. She received a bachelor’s diploma in fine arts at Colorado’s University of Colorado at Boulder and moved to Evergreen, Colorado in the latter part of the 1980s.
