The actress, Charlie Yun Choi-Nei (born on May 23rd 1974) Sometimes called Charlie Young, is a Hong Kong actress, singer and director of films. She first came to the attention of people when she appeared in a jewelry commercial alongside Aaron Kwok. Since then, she has been involved in music videos for musicians like Hacken Lee Takeshi Kaneshiro as well as Jacky Cheung. She has also produced a range of films, including together with Tsui Hark (The Lovers Love in the Time of Twilight, Seven Swords) and Wong Kar-wai (Ashes of Time, Fallen Angels).

At the peak of her fame in 1997, she decided to quit and resigned from the business to establish an image-consulting company with her Singaporean lawyer- boyfriend from Malaysia.

In 2004, after a failed relationship and business, she made her comeback as the lead actress in Jackie Chan’s New Police Story. Following that, she collaborated once again with Tsui Hark in the martial arts movie Seven Swords and starred alongside Andy Lau in the love movie All About Love. She later co- starred in the film After This Our Exile opposite Aaron Kwok. She has made plans to appear in a sequel to Seven Swords. She also played the deaf love interest to Nicolas Cage in Bangkok Dangerous.

In 2006, Yeung and her friends Valen Hsu, Gigi Leung and Angelica Lee, formed “Hope Foundation”, a non-profit organization to help children in need, and later formed “Save-a-Smile”.

She had her first film in 1994 with filmmaker Tsui Hark on the movie The Lovers (Liang Zhu ) which is which is a Chinese classic tale of love and the Butterfly Lovers. Yeung was chosen to play the female lead in the film, Zhu Yingtai in the role of the character of Nicky Wu, Liang Shanbo. Her performance was met with wide praise from critics, and helped propel Yeung to the heights of fame. The film has today been considered to be her most authentic film to date.
