Charles Roderick Furbush (born April 11 in 1986) is an American former professional baseball player. He was a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners.
On May 21 2011 Furbush was summoned up in his first major league appearance in order to take over Brad Thomas who went on the disabled list for 15 days due to the left side of his elbow being inflamed. Furbush first made debut in his Major League debut on May 23, 2011, when he came to relieve pitcher Phil Coke who appeared to injury his ankle after slipping on the grass that was wet after a quick start of just 3 1/3 innings, and an one-run Tigers loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Furbush gave a base-on balls to the batter who he encountered, Sean Rodriguez, to take the bases. He took out Felipe Lopez and Kelly Shoppach to close the game. Furbush pitched 3 1/3 innings with two hits as well as the base of balls and three strikeouts, before replacing him with Joaquin Benoit for the start of the eighth innings. The Tigers were able to come back and score two runs on Furbush and then beat the team 6-3, which earned Furbush victory during his debut Major League game. On June 30th, Furbush was moved to the first team, replacing Phil Coke.
On December 17, 2013, Furbush signed a one-year contract extension with the Seattle Mariners. He appeared a career-high 71 games for the 2013 Mariners, posting a 3.74 ERA and compiling 80 strikeouts in 65 innings.
On August 10, 2016, Furbush announced that he would have surgery to fix a partially torn rotator cuff, with an expected recovery time of 12-18 months. He did not pitch in the 2016 season. On November 2, Furbush was outrighted to the minors. After being removed from the 40 man roster, Furbush elected free agency on November 4.
On July 30th the 30th of July, 2011 Furbush has been dealt to the Seattle Mariners along with outfielder Casper Wells, prospect Francisco Martinez and a player to be named in the near future Chance Ruffin from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for David Pauley and Doug Fister.

Furbush was born in South Portland, Maine and was a student at South Portland High School. He then went to St. Joseph’s College of Maine and was selected to play for Louisiana State University. Between 2005 and 2006 Furbush was a collegiate summer baseball player with the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League and, in the Cape Cod Baseball League, Furbush threw a no- hitter and was named the division’s western leading pitcher in the league’s all-star tournament, and was named the best New England prospect in 2006. When he was at Louisiana State in 2007, Furbush was 3-9 and an 4.95 ERA in 16 starts and struck out 88 batters over 87 innings. He was chosen with Tigers Tigers during the 4th round of the amateur draft. He started his professional career that season.
Furbush was in 12 games played between both the GCL Tigers and West Michigan Whitecaps in 2007 making 10 starts and finishing 6-for-one with an 2.34 ERA, striking out 70 batters in 61 1/3 innings. Furbush did not pitch in 2008 as he was recovering after undergoing Tommy John surgery. In 2009, with Furbush pitching for the Lakeland Flying Tigers in 2009, Furbush went 6-7 with an 3.96 ERA in 24 games (23 starts). He split his 2010 time with The Lakeland Flying Tigers, (13 starts), Erie SeaWolves (five starts) and Toledo Mud Hens (nine starts) and was 8-9, with an 4.25 ERA. He batted out 183 batters in 159 innings.
On June 8, 2012, he was one of six pitchers who combined for a no-hitter.
