Charlie Fowler is one of the most popular and richest Mountaineer who was born on February 18, 1954 in North Carolina, United States. Charlie Fowler (February 18, 1954 – November 14, 2006) was a famous American climbing enthusiast, writer and photographer. He was among the best mountain climbers and had successfully climbed some of the world’s most awe-inspiring mountain peaks. Together with his climbing partner Christine Boskoff, he went missing in the southwest of China between the 11th of November until November 14 in the year 2006. The body was discovered on Ge’nyen Mountain on December 27 in 2006, and recognized a day later.

He was a member of the American Mountain Guides Association in 1986. He also became an accredited guide who taught courses and assessed other students who were seeking certification as mountain guides. He frequently led expeditions for Mountain Madness which is an adventure travel business owned by Christine Boskoff.

Along with his friend Damon Johnston, Fowler founded the publishing company Mountain World Media LLC in 2005. Fowler and Johnston also co-authored a guidebook to sandstone climbs in southwest Colorado titled The Wild Wild West. Fowler also started the Telluride Mountain Club and the Horizon Program.

Fowler and Boskoff were officially declared missing when they were not present on a scheduled return flight to the United States booked for December 4. Search efforts by Chinese authorities and an independent search party retained by friends and mountaineers continued through most of December 2006.

In 1977, he was a household name following his free solo of in the Direct North Buttress route on Middle Cathedral Rock in Yosemite National Park and was and then the first climbing solo of the Diamond on Colorado’s Longs Peak in 1978. The route he took originally referred to as”the Integral Route, later changed to”the Casual Route after Fowler’s bold ascent.
