Charles Casuscelli (born 22 October 1956) is an Australian politician served as a senator in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly serving as the representative of Strathfield in the Liberal Party from 2011 to 2015.

As the representative of Strathfield with a history of transport issues, his focus soon turned towards Strathfield’s M4 “Missing Link”, and he became a fan of saying that the M4/WestConnex Project is “his baby”. He’s often argued this was the most efficient project that could improve the standard of living for people living in the outer west of Sydney and to provide a significant contribution to the economic development of NSW. It was an absolute necessity that he believed was that was the “completion of the M4 East”. The announcement of WestConnex was the culmination of his personal campaign which began in 1997 as the director general for the Transport Management Centre to have this vital link to the motorway network complete. Charles is also a fervent advocate of increased parking for commuters to help get private vehicles off the road.

After leaving the RTA and going back into the private sector in 2001 Casuscelli’s attention became directed towards what he saw as the growing ineptness of the Labor government to effectively deal with transport and roads issues. He made a number of media appearances highlighting Government failures in such things as managing incidents on the road network, criticising the unnecessary duplication of the Iron Cove bridge, waste and mismanagement of Government especially the aborted CBD Metro.

In 2001, he commenced work as a senior executive with NRMA Motoring and Services. After a relatively short period ~ 2 years he set up his own private consultancy and delivered professional services to the transport, telecommunications, OH&S, marketing and advertising industries.

He was promoted to the position of project manager , developing computers that allow the management of telecom services in real-time. He resigned from Telecom Australia and undertook continuous full-time duty as an officer in the army’s regular force from 1988 until 1992. He was appointed an officer of staff (captain) at the Headquarters of the Australian Defence Force and later as a major in the headquarters of Land Command. He was in charge of the development and execution of command, control and communications in the combat units that comprised Australia’s Army.
