Whistleblower The two-part reality-based drama, which aired in August 2008 was based on the early 1970s scandal that took place in the late 1970s at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, County Louth, that involved Gynaecologist Michael Neary. McKenna played Karen who is a new mother who undergoes an unneeded surgery to remove her hysterectomy after having given birth. Emma Stansfield played the nurse who blows the whistle.
