Chan Chun Sing is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on October 9, 1969 in Singapore. Chan Chun Sing (simplified Chinese: Chen Zhen Sheng ; traditional Chinese: Chen Zhen Sheng Pinyin: Chen Zhensheng ; Jyutping: Can4 Zan3-sing1 ; Tamil: cnnn cunnn ceng; born 9th Oct 1969) is a Singaporean politician. As a member of the government People’s Action Party (PAP) Chan is currently Minister of Trade and Industry (since 2018) Minister-in-Charge of the Public Service (since 2015) and Second Assistant Secretary General of Singapore’s ruling People’s Action Party (since 2018) under the current Secretary-General and Prime Minister of the People’s Action Party Lee Hsien Loong and the currently Deputy Prime Minister and the First Vice Secretary General for the People’s Action Party, Heng Swee Keat. On October 1, 15th, Chan has been appointed the deputy chairman of the People’s Association. Chan has been a Member of the Parliament (MP) for the Tanjong Pgar Group Representation Constituency since the general election in 2011. Before he joined politics He was in Singapore’s Singapore Armed Forces, where he was promoted to the rank of Major General and was the Singapore’s chief of Army between 2010 and the year 2011.

Chan excelled in her studies in The US Army Command and General Staff College in 1998. He was also among the first students from outside the United States awarded an award called the “Distinguished Master Strategist Award” that same year.

Chan was appointed the Chief of Army on 26 March 2010 (replacing Major-General Neo Kian Hong). He left the Singapore Armed Forces on 25 March 2011 in order to stand for Parliament (and was replaced as Chief of Army by Brigadier- General Ravinder Singh).

Chan was a PAP candidate in the Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency at the 2011 general election, representing the Buona Vista ward previously held by Lim Swee Say. The PAP’s team in the constituency was led by former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, and was declared elected on Nomination Day (27 April 2011) in a walkover. During the election campaign, Chan used the Hokkien phrase “kee chiu” (meaning “hands up”) at a rally to engage the crowd, and the term became a well-known nickname for him in Singapore.
