Brigadier General Cary C. Chun, born August 23, 1963, is a former senior officer in the United States Air Force. He was the Deputy Commander Operations and Interagency Integration at Joint Functional Component Command for Space (USSTRATCOM) and Director for Mission Operations at National Reconnaissance Office. He was responsible for all Department of Defense’s space forces that were aligned to USSTRATCOM. He also provided tailored, global, and responsive effects in support of the national, USSTRATCOM, and combatant commander goals. He was the Director of Mission Operations and managed all NRO overhead reconnaissance, ground stations, operations communications and the operations center that conducts intelligence activities critical to the national security and safety of the United States and its allies.
Chun was born at Cavite in the Philippines at Sangley Point Naval Air Station. His father was active duty with the United States Coast Guard. In 1981, he graduated from Amador Vale High School. In 1985, he was commissioned as second lieutenant at the United States Air Force Academy.
