After Anthony Rendon, a veteran third baseman, left the Nationals in 2019. Dave Martinez, Nationals manager, stated in January 2020 that Kieboom would be moving to third base full-time. He also said that Rendon would likely replace him in 2020.
Kieboom began the 2019 season with the Fresno Grizzlies of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League. On April 26, 2019, the Nationals purchased Kieboom’s contract and promoted him to the major league roster for a series against the San Diego Padres. He made his debut that night and hit a home run for his first major league hit.
Kieboom, who played for the High-A Potomac Nationals in 2018, was named a Carolina League All-Star. He was one of six Potomac players to be so honored. He was 3-for-5 and hit a homer in the All-Star Game. After the All-Star Game, he was promoted to Class-AA Harrisburg Senators. He homered against Baltimore Orioles prospect Keegan akin in his first game at the higher levels on June 21, 2018. He represented Team USA and was selected with Luis Garcia, Dominican-raised, to participate in the All-Star Futures Game at Nationals Park.

Kieboom was a graduate of George Walton Comprehensive High school in Marietta, Georgia. To play college baseball for Clemson University, he committed to attending Clemson University. The Washington Nationals drafted him in the first round 2016 Major League Baseball Draft. On June 11, 2016, he announced that he was joining the team. His first professional season was spent with the GCL Nationals, where he batted at.244 with four runs and 25 RBIs. He was hitting.333 with the Class A Hagerstown Suns in 2017, before suffering a hamstring injury that forced him to be placed on the disabled list. Kieboom, along with several Suns teammates, was named to the South Atlantic League’s Northern Division All-Star Team. According to MLB Pipeline and Baseball America, Kieboom was the fourth-best Nationals prospect for 2017. Kieboom returned to action in late-season and played in six games for the GCL Nationals, seven with the Auburn Doubledays, before returning to Hagerstown. He had a.297 average and nine home runs across all three levels in 2017, which included 61 games.
