In 2015, Random House published Soul Food Love: Healthy Recipes Inspired By One Hundred Years Of Cooking in a Black Family. Williams co-authored the book with Alice Randall, her mother and novelist. According to the publisher, the book tells the fascinating story of the authors’ family history, which mirrors that of most of black America in 20th century. It also explores the fraught relationship African American women have with food and offers a powerful new path forward that respects their cultural heritage and culinary heritage.

Lucy Negro, Redux has been adapted as a ballet titled Attitude: Lucy Negro Redux. It premiered at the Polk Theater of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center on February 8, 2019 by the Nashville Ballet. According to the New York Times Paul Vasterling, artistic director of the Nashville Ballet, choreographed the work. Kayla Rowser danced the part of Lucy and Rhiannon Giddens scored and performed the ballet.
