Carole Rousseau was a Hauts-de-Seine native. After studying law, she obtained a DESS (Diplome d’études superieures spécialisées) in audiovisual communication. She began working in 1991 on FR3 alongside Jean-Marie Cavada to produce the program La Marche du Siecle. From 1993 to 1996 she was a production assistant at Le Droit de savoir, Charles Villeneuve. In September 1996 she joined France 2 to present Deja dimanche with JeanLuc Delarue.
She joined TF1 in 1997 to co-host Plein les yeux (primetime compilation of shocking images), and later to co-host Celebrites alongside Stephane Bern. Carole Rousseau presented many special programs from 1997 to 1999. These included Tirage de la Coupe Du Monde at Stade Velodrome in Marseille and Le Millenium 31/12/1999 with Jean-Claude Narcy.
She also presents on channel TMC the program 90′ enquêtes, mostly about delinquency including reports with the police, and 90′ Faits Divers. She produced the magazine Ma drôle de vie presented by Alexia Laroche-Joubert. Since September 2009, she presents the magazine Au cœur du crime about news items, on TF1
