Koch held a lead of two shots with only the last hole remaining in the 1999 Jamie Farr Kroger Classic. Koch was mistakenly given the wrong club by her caddie and she made double-bogey to fall into a sudden death playoff in which Se Ri Pak won. Koch won her maiden European title in 2000 at the 2000 Chrysler Open. Koch was part of the European Solheim Cup Team that won. She went 3-0 as a “rookie”, and she sank an 8-foot birdie putt on 17th hole to win against Michele Redman. This victory secured the European Team’s victory. She also won the inaugural TSN Ladies’ World Cup of Golf with Sophie Gustafson.
In 2001, she became an LPGA maiden winner at the LPGA Corning Classic. At the start of 2002, Carin topped a Playboy internet poll as the sexiest women on the LPGA but declined to pose for them nude. This was the year Koch recorded a career-best 13 top-10 finishes, including three runner-up finishes and was a captain’s pick for the European Solheim Cup team. In 2003, Koch gave birth to her second child, but still played well enough to be a captain’s pick for the 2003 Solheim Cup won by the Europeans in her native Sweden.
In 2005, she won her second career LPGA event at the Corona Morelia Championship. and was again a captain’s pick for the 2005 Solheim Cup. She teamed up with Sophie Gustafson to represent Sweden at the inaugural Women’s World Cup of Golf and was also a member of the International team at the inaugural Lexus Cup. She also played in the 2007 Women’s World Cup of Golf with Helen Alfredsson.
Her best LPGA finish in 1995, her rookie year, was a tie for second at JAL Big Apple Classic. Two top ten finishes at the Ladies European Tour also came to her. She almost won her maiden LPGA win in 1996, losing the Edina Realty Class to LiselotteNeumann in a playoff.

Carin Koch was a successful amateur athlete. She represented Gullbringa Golf & Country Club in Kungalv (north of Gothenburg), Sweden. She was the 1988 Swedish Junior 18 Matchplay Champion and the 1992 Swedish match-play champion. She represented Sweden at both the junior and national levels during 1985-1991. Koch was a student at the University of Tulsa. She was second-team all-American in 1990, and scholar all-american in 1991.
