Paivi “Capri” Virkkunen, also known as Paivi Selo (born 28 Feb 1972), is a Finnish singer/vocal coach. She began her career as a pop singer in Finland. She has been the vocalist of Finnish symphonic metal band Amberian Dawn since 2012 when she replaced Heidi Parviainen, who was the band’s earlier vocalist.
She participated in qualification for the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest entries in late 2000s. First, with Movetron, a Finnish pop and dance band, where they interpreted “Cupido”, and then with Waldo’s People, the Finnish Eurodance group Waldo’s People in 2009.
In 2013, she portrayed the role of Frida Lyngstad of the band ABBA in a stage musical about the group.
Amberian Dawn released album Magic Forest on 2013 with a new style, which Tuomas Seppälä considered more like “symphonic metal”.
Syksyn savel was a television music competition on MTV3. She sang “Vertigo” twice in 1998, and “Oot Kuin Varjo Vierellain” 2000. However, she did not win the contest. She released Kuun Morsian, a second solo album in 2001. It featured songs written by Kari Salli.
