Campbell Newman is one of the most popular and richest Civil Engineer who was born on August 12, 1963 in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Normal Australian practice is for the defeated government to remain in office until the final results are in. The day after the election, Bligh declared that she would be resigning her position as premier and retiring politics. Newman declared an hour later that he would advise Penny Wensley about whether he could form a government. Newman also stated that he would swear himself in and Tim Nicholls (his shadow ministers), as interim three-man government. Seeney will be the deputy premier, and Nicholls will serve as treasurer. On 26 March, Newman was officially sworn into office as Queensland’s 38th premier. The interim government that he formed remained in place until the full ministry was officially sworn into office a week later. After he was sworn in, he became the first nonLabor premier from Brisbane and the first noninterim premier to be aligned with the Liberals or their predecessors since Digby Denham’s departure in 1915. Gordon Chalk was the last Liberal premier in Queensland. He served as a caretaker from 1968, when Jack Pizzey died, to the election of Joh Bielke-Petersen in later that year. He is also the first person to lead a party in victory since Federation, even though he was not serving in the legislature at that time. Newman was the first Queenslander to be elected with a majority government. Newman declared that he would be focusing on rebuilding Queensland’s economic and financial system. He asked his party members to come up with plans to deliver on their promises in their respective seats.
Newman led the LNP in the election to a complete victory. With a swing of 14.5 percentage points, the LNP won 78 seats and Labor seven. The LNP took 44 seats. This was due to Brisbane, Labor’s stronghold for over 20 years, supporting Newman. In Brisbane, the LNP won an unprecedented 37 seats. Many of these were by swings of more than 10 points. It had only six of the capital’s 40 seats, whereas Labor held power largely on the strength that it won at least 30 seats in each election since 1989. This was the worst defeat that a sitting government in Queensland has suffered, and it was also one of the most unbalanced election results in Australia at the state level. Newman won an impressive victory in Ashgrove. He received 51 percent of primary vote and 54 per cent of the two-party vote. This was almost twice the swing required.
In the 2004 election, Newman narrowly defeated Labor incumbent Tim Quinn. However, a majority of wards returned Labor councillors, meaning Newman had to work with a Labor-dominated civic cabinet and a Labor deputy mayor.
In the 2008 election, Newman was re-elected and the Liberals took control of the council by taking at least six wards from Labor.
In 1981, he joined the Australian Army as a staff officer cadet at Royal Military College, Duntroon. He graduated as a lieutenant and became a Lieutenant in 1985. He served 13 years in the army and was promoted to major in 1993. He holds an honours degree from the University of New South Wales in civil engineering.

Campbell Newman was born in Canberra on 12 August 1963 to parents who were both ministers in Liberal/National coalition governments and later represented Tasmania in the federal parliament. From 1975 to 1984, his father, Kevin, was the representative of the federal seat in Bass and was a minister with the Fraser government. His mother Jocelyn Newman (nee Mullett) was a senator for Tasmania (1986-192002) and a minister with the Howard government. Campbell Newman was born in Tasmania and attended Launceston Church Grammar School before returning to Canberra.
Campbell Kevin Thomas Newman, AO was born 12 August 1963. He served as the 38th Premier for Queensland between 26 March 2012 and 14 February 2015. Between March 2012 and January 2015, Newman was the Member for Ashgrove at the Legislative Assembly of Queensland. From 2 April 2011 to 7 Feb 2015, Newman was the Leader for the Liberal National Party (LNP). He also served as the 15th Lord Mayor in Brisbane between 27 March 2004 and 3 April 2011.
Jones held Ashgrove with a margin of 7.1 points, making it a “fairly safe” Labor seat, on paper. However, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation elections analyst Antony Green, Newman carried The Gap ward, which contains the bulk of Ashgrove (Brisbane City Council wards are almost as large as state electorates), with 56 percent of the two-party vote in 2004 and almost 70 percent in 2008. According to Green, if Newman repeated his past performance in The Gap, he would be able to take Ashgrove off Labor.

On 18 March 2011, Nine News Queensland’s Spencer Jolly reported that the LNP’s organisational wing was engineering a plan to make Newman the leader of the LNP. According to Jolly, party president Bruce McIver was trying to arrange for Bruce Flegg, the former leader of the Queensland Liberals and the MP for Moggill, the only safe LNP seat in Brisbane at the time, to resign and hand his seat to Newman. Under this plan, once Newman was safely in the legislature, he would have challenged Opposition Leader John-Paul Langbroek—who, like Newman, is from the Liberal side of the LNP merger—for the leadership of the LNP. Newman subsequently acknowledged he had been approached about moving up to state politics. Although he did not rule out running in the next state election he stated that, for the time being, he was committed to serving out his term as lord mayor and running for re-election in 2012.
