Carl-Hermann Gustav “Calle” Schlettwein, a Namibian politician, was born 13 June 1954 and has been a member of the country’s Cabinet since 2012. After serving as Minister of Finance from 2015-2020 and as Minister of Trade and Industry between 2012 and 2015, he was elected Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform in March 2020.
Following the 2019 presidential election, Hage Geingob was reelected to power, Schlettwein was appointed to the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform.
In March 2015, President Hage Geingob promoted Schlettwein to the position of Minister of Finance.

Since 1990, when Namibia gained independence, Schlettwein was the permanent secretary for various ministries. After seven years of service in the Ministry of Finance for seven years, President Hifikepunye pohamba elected Schlettwein as one of six non-voting members of Parliament. This term began in March 2010. In 2010, he was appointed Deputy Minister for Finance. Following the 2012 SWAPO congress in 2012, Schlettwein was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance in 2010. He became the first senior white cabinet member in this post since the early days of independence.
Schlettwein received the Most Excellent Order of the Eagle Second Class on Heroes’ Day 2014.
