He also works as a film producer, screenwriter, novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. Barnes arrived in Los Angeles in 2009 and began his acting career in short films, television commercials, screenwriting, and film productions. His stage play Rise. His stage play Rise won the ‘Best World Premiere Award’ at 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival, Hollywood, California. Barnes was a star in the Universal Studios horror movie Unfriended (2014). Jason Blum executive produced the film and wrote the screenplay for Adolescence (2018). True Grandeur is his first published novel. He also manages his feelings for Gracie Garrison (a young Hollywood it girl) and takes an interest. Barnes said that he was inspired by “some experiences” he had when he first moved to Los Angeles in his twenties.

Barnes began his acting career in 2010, when he started booking short films that he had submitted himself for and which were filmed in Los Angeles. When he was able to land his first agent, he began booking commercial and theatrical work. He moved to Franklin Village in the Hollywood Hills in late 2011 and began writing feature screenplays.
