Bryyn is one of the most popular and richest American singer- songwriter who was born on January 31, 1980 in Illinois, United States. Bryyn (Welsh pronunciation: [‘brin ‘] ; born Bryn Martin, January 31, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His music is said to be a kind of new wave and independent folk music that is infused with innovative and original soundscapes. Bryyn is known for recording himself and creating all of his music. He has also released numerous songs under the Creative Commons license.

In the year 2010, Bryyn began working on a project with Twenty Ten Music, a Nashville music publisher run by Charlie Peacock working with The Civil Wars, Switchfoot, The Daylights, and Sleeping at Last however, she was pulled out of the company in 2011 because of a lack of commercial appeal. Bryyn has released three albums together with Smartsound in 2010 and 2011 under the name of artist Pinkle. In November of 2010, Bryyn released the House Plants album alongside the Berlin-based netlabel for free music Aaahh Records, home of the indie artist creative commons Entertainment for the Braindead, Keyboard Rebel, Uniform Motion, Emilie Lund and The Wind Whistles. The songs on the House Plants album were released on the Internet Archive under the Creative Commons license and are open to remix with other performers.

First Bryyn track, First Comes Rug Burn Then Comes Fire, made available in the month of December on blocSonic, the blocSonic netlabel. Another single, Fractals, was released by blocSonic in December of 2010.

Bryyn moved in 2007 to Akron, Ohio in 2007 before moving relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2008. In Pittsburgh, Bryyn collaborated with a local filmmaker and musician Michael Savisky of the Pittsburgh band Colonizing the Cozmos and Buddy Nutt, a musical saw player and multi-instrumentalist. Bryyn moved in 2009 to Lausanne, Switzerland in 2009 to discover Lausanne’s European music scene, and also be a neuroscientist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. In 2010 Bryyn created a group that was based in Lausanne, Switzerland for live shows called Pinkle and the Polygons. They are a vocalist/pianist with the wife Rachel Martin, percussionist Nicola Cettou and bassist Jens Ingensand as well as Ukulele player Aurelie Rewki.

Bryyn was raised in Woodridge, Illinois, and attended school at home during the elementary years. He took piano lessons under the Suzuki method at the age of five , and also took flute lessons. At the age of 14, Bryyn started playing guitar and formed Ophur, a Chicago alternative rock group Ophur along with her neighborhood friend, musician and singer Benson Krause. Bryyn played as the main guitarist and as a backup vocalist for Ophur as well as opening for national acts like The Plain White T’s, Sum 41, Violent Femmes, Local H, Lucky Boys Confusion, Veruca Salt, Two Skinee J’s, Duvall along with Sleeping at Last. Ophur played their final concert in 2003. The singer who was the lead, Benson Krause, died of apparent suicide on January 22nd the 22nd of January, 2008 when his car was hit by a train that was a commuter. Bryyn also played in the Downers Grove North High School jazz lab band as well as with the College of DuPage Jazz ensemble. Through high school and university, Bryyn worked as a clarinet flute, clarinet as well as a pipe organ technician. In addition, she set up a recording studio in her garage.

In 2012, Bryyn won a place in the top five finalists among over 2000 entrants at the Newsong Music Mountain Stage Contest, one of the premier singer- songwriter showcases in the United States. Later in 2012, Bryyn joined with Newsong Recordings to officially release a full-length album entitled, In Shapes.
