Caram was born the 26th of July 1987 in Avare the city of southwestern State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Caram grew up in a musical household and was surrounded by musicians, singers as well as composers, instrumentalists and composers of various types: Her maternal grandmother Maria Piedade was a radio singer in the 1950s. Her paternal grandfather Jamil Caram was a guitarist and she was the niece of Juca Novaes the Brazilian composer and singer, as well as the two singers Ana Caram and Lucila Novaes.

Caram began her solo career as a performer when she released her debut album in December. Essa Menina (This Girl) is a blend of blues, ballads, rock and bossa-nova. The songs were written by Otavio Toledo, along with his musical collaborators, Jose Carlos Costa Netto and Juca Novaes. In Japan the title track was atop the major playlists of radio stations, and was among the top 50 most-played songs by radio J-Wave. The track Palavras do Coracao (Words of the Heart) received a lot of airplay in Brazilian radio.

In 2010, Caram received a degree in music from São Paulo State University (UNESP). In 2012 she began studying theatre and acting and has also been studying ballet for several years.

Caram’s third album, Será Bem-Vindo Qualquer Sorriso (Will Welcome Any Smile) was released on November 16, 2012.

In 2005, Caram received the award “Festival Interunesp de Ilha Solteira’.

Bruna Caram (born on July 26 1987) is multi-instrumental Brazilian artist. She has been a vocalist for over 20 years. She is also a composer, songwriter as well as actress and dancer.

Caram began her piano studies when she was seven years old. In 1996, at just nine, Caram joined the groups of musicians Trovadores Mirins and Trovadores Urbanos and Trovadores Urbanos, which she later joined. Caram remained with the group touring and performing across Brazil until she reached aged 18. At the age of 14, she began taking formal vocal lessons and has continued these lessons since then.

Her second album, Feriado Pessoa (Personal Holiday) was released in 2009. The title track was written by Caram. Other songs are written by Lô Borges (Quem Sabe Isso Quer Dizer Amor), Guilherme Arantes (Cuide-se Bem) and Caetano Veloso (Gatas Extraordinárias). The album features Samba music fused with melancholy lyrics: “I love sounds to cry, but I think the public is missing songs to feel good, to forget that grey and chaotic environment in which we live . It’s music for a sunny day on vacation.”
