After the redrawing of legislative districts at the end of 2012 Geraldine Foley. Thompson chose to run for Florida Senate instead of seeking an election in the newly-created 46th District. Antone took on the challenge for the position to succeed her. Antone ran on the campaign that promised to give the neglected district adequate consideration “in the form of job-training, education funding and services for the elderly.” He was a winner at the Democratic primary, securing 36 percent of the votes against Pam Powell’s 29 percent, Sean Bradford’s 15 percent, Rosalind Johnson’s 13% and Jason Henry’s 8 percent. At the general vote, Antone faced no opposition and he was reelected to the legislative chambers unopposed.
Instead of running for re-election in the year 2006 Antone decided to be a candidate for the Orange County Commission from the 6th District. He faced Moore-Russell Juan Lynum, Jackson Marcelin along with Chick Fryar during the primaries election and finished behind Moore-Russell with 37 percent of votes against her 38%, and was able to advance in the final election. He was supported by the Sentinel who was awed by its “sensible priorities” of increasing funding for the Lynx bus system, promoting SunRail and establishing extra-curricular programs that children can participate in. But he was a narrow loser to Moore-Russell. He only won 47% of her votes against her 53 percent. He as well as David Rucker challenged her in 2010 when she ran for her second term, but she beat him by a huge margin during the primary election and won six-in-one of her votes against his 26% and Rucker’s 13 percent.
