On June 5, 2013, Brittney announced she would be retiring from wrestling in December. However, on July 21, she retracted her plans due to what she called something big happening to her. One month later on August 20, Brittney’s plans fell through and she officially announced her retirement from wrestling.

Savege began her career on Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU) under the name Brooke Carter, teaming up with Reyna Fire to face Melissa Coates and Trixxie Lynn and Trixxie Lynn in a loss. In WSU Carter formed a tag team with Miss April who was known as the AC Express. In February 72009 The AC Express defeated The Beatdown Betties (Roxie Cotton and Annie Social) to become the WSU Tag Team Champions. One month later in March, they beat The Beatdown Betties again to retain the title. On April 10, 2009, Carter took part at the J-CUP tournament however, she fell to Rain in the first round. It was the AC Express hold the championships until Miss April signed an agreement in partnership with World Wrestling Entertainment, then WSU permitted Carter to pick her replacement, and she picked Alicia. Carter and Alicia were eliminated from the championship by Hailey Hatred and Jessicka Havok on the 22nd of August, 2009, in At the world’s As The World Turns tournament. On November 9, 2009 Brittney took on Beth Phoenix in a match on WWE SmackDown.

However, during her title match with the newly crowned champion Mercedes Martinez, the former champion Jessica Havok, interjected herself in the match making it a three–way after Havok invoked her rematch clause.
