Britt William Reames (born on 19th August 1973) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched for a portion of 6 seasons with the Major Leagues in the years 2000-2006 with four different teams.
Over the next few years In the following years, he was a pitcher for his team the Oakland Athletics, the Montreal Expos and The Pittsburgh Pirates, always switching between majors and minors. On August 11, 2006, the Pirates called him up the Pirates following the time that Josh Sharpless went on the disabled list. The following day, on August 28th the team assigned him to assignment. He hasn’t played professionally since the year 2006.
After recuperation, Reames made his debut in the major leagues with the Cardinals in the year 2000. In 2000, he played seven games, compiled the team to a 2.88 ERA, and contributed to the club’s World Series contention, giving just one run in 9.2 game innings.

Reames was a student at Seneca Senior High school in Seneca, South Carolina. He was chosen out of high school’s 46th round from the 1991 Major League Baseball draft by the Texas Rangers, but opted to play in the college league in the Citadel Bulldogs. The year 1994 was the first time he played in collegiate winter baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Yarmouth- Dennis Red Sox. He was picked 17th in the selection in 1995’s Major League Baseball draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
An intriguing minor league player early on Reames had a stellar 1996 season playing single-A Peoria Reames, who was awarded the St. Louis Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Year in the end of the season, having 15 wins and an impressive 1.90 ERA. He was, however, inactive for both seasons in 1997 and 1998, as recovering after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
He spent three years as the pitching coach at Furman from 2008 through 2010 before taking the same position at his alma mater prior to the 2011 season. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at The Citadel in November 2008.
