(LREM) who has been an elected Member of the French National Assembly since 2012 in that department, Pas-de-Calais. Prior to 2017 she was a member of the Socialist Party.
In the parliament, Bourguignon is chairman of in the Committee on Social Affairs. In September of 2018 following the appointment of Richard Ferrand as President of the National Assembly, she stood for the position of a successor to his position as the chairman of the LREM Parliamentary group. She was eliminated on the first round, placing 5th from seven candidates and 19 votes.
On May 18, 2018, the Bourguignon was a co-sponsor of an initiative to support bioethics laws that would give single and gay women accessibility to treatments for infertility, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) as part of the French national health insurance system; it was among the presidential campaign promises made by Emmanuel Macron and marked the first major social change of his five-year presidency.
