Brett Steven Lebda (born January 15 1982) is an former American professional defenseman in ice hockey, who was last with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL). He been a part of the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He was a part of 76 games in his 2006-07 NHL season. He also played 12 games during the playoff season. He set a new career record in scoring points, with 18 and was part of the sole fight that he’s ever had in which he fought Mikael Holmqvist.
He was a member of the Stanley Cup winning Red Wings team of 2007-08.
Due to sub-par play to start the 2008–09 NHL season, Lebda found himself a healthy scratch for three straight games before returning to the lineup.
Lebda played hockey in college in The University of Notre Dame. He was accepted as a non-drafted as a free-agent by the Detroit Red Wings in 2004 and placed with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Wings Minor league team of the American Hockey League. Lebda could not suit in an NHL games until after the 2005-06 NHL season because of the NHL lockout. The Red Wing became only the second Red Wing since Greg Johnson in 1993 to score his first NHL goal on the opening night of the season. He played in 46 games during in the regular season, and played in all six of Detroit’s opening round playoff games.

As a youngster, Lebda played in the 1996 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament as part of The Chicago Young Americans minor ice hockey team.
