In the year 2010, Msomi was invited to the SPAR Proteas training camp but did not make the cut for the team. The following year , she was again a part of the SPAR Proteas training camp and was part of the team for 2011’s 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore.

On the 18 August 2016 Msomi was announced as captain of the SPAR Proteas for their tour of New Zealand and Australia for the Quad Series. She succeeded Holtzhausen who suffered a knee injury in the SPAR national championships in Durban the previous week. Msomi has remained the captain of the SPAR Proteas squad for the 2017 and 2018 Quad Series.

In 2017 Msomi received an offer from the Adelaide Thunderbirds, and in 2018 joined the team as to play in Australia’s Suncorp Super Netball. At the end of the 2018 season she returned to the UK to play for Wasps Netball.

After playing for eThekwini in the Salga KZN-DSR games, Msomi joined the under-19 team and later, in the team for under-21s. Msomi played for the under-21s team during the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships in the Cook Islands. Msomi was captain of the under-21s team during the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships in the Cook Islands.

Msomi began her netball career in the year 2004. She was at 16 years old she was at Chief Luthayi High School located in Durban. In her first game, she was a substitute player at the position Wing Defence. The team was short of one player. She didn’t have equipment or training shoes at the time, but was given an old uniform by the coach at school S’thembiso.
