As of 2013, the actress launched her own production company , Bolanle Austen- Peters Productions (BAP). The company began its journey into the Nigerian theatre scene through its debut show, SARO the Musical. The production received critical reviews and praises from the BBC as well as Sky News. Between the months of December 2014 and April 2015, BAP Productions performed SARO the Musical at the well-known Muson Centre. The musical was one of the very first Nigerian musical staged in the London’s West End and Shaw Theatre. The production was staged at The London West End at the Shaw Theatre. In December of 2015, BAP Productions performed its second production, Wakaa the Musical. The show was performed in Lagos and was staged at the London’s West End from 21 to 25 July 2016. In December of 2017, Bolanle Austen-Peters brought to the stage and directed the iconic Fela as well as The Kalakuta Queens musical. The critically acclaimed musical has grown to be the largest production from West Africa having had over 120,000 people watching it. and will be screened on television in Lagos, Cairo and down south of Pretoria between 2017 until 2020. It is the musical based upon the true story of the famous Nigerian musician and activist Fela Kuti and the women who stood with his side. Bolanle Austen-Peters also directed the year 2018 Moremi the Musical which tells the tale of the 13th-century Yoruba legend queen who freed citizens from Ife from the sway of their adversaries. She directed Moremi the Musical, received high praises and reviews by professor Wole Soyinka describing its as; “a theatrical Landmark in Nigeria’s theatre history”.
In the year 2015, BAP commenced production of the film 93 Days (2016), which is a feature-length film on the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria that debuted on September 13, the 13th of September in Lagos. It was chosen to premiere and screening during the Toronto International Film Festival, The Chicago Film Festival, the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles, the Johannesburg Film Festival and The Africa Film Festival in Cologne/Germany and nominated for the RapidLion Award. It also garnered the highest nominations at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards with a total of 13 nominations. The film also won an award for the most outstanding lighting designer. It was nominated for 93 days in seven categories for 2017. African Movie Academy Awards, which was the highest-nominated film of the 2017 AMAA.
