Bobby Leon Scales (born October 4 1977) is an American professional second baseman in baseball. A switch hitter who pitches straight-handed. Scales was a player for at the University of Michigan and was chosen to the San Diego Padres in the 14th round (442nd overall) of the 1999 Major League Baseball Draft on June 11th in 1999. While at Michigan the team he played with was the Corvallis Knights in the West Coast League which is an independent summer league for collegiate players. He was a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the Orix Buffaloes.

Scales was signed by the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan on the 27th of June, 2011.

On January 27, 2012, Scales signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs.

Scales was hired by the Pittsburgh Pirates to be the organization’s assistant fielding coordinator in 2019.

However, the streak ended on the 16th of May. In the same game in which Scales scored the winning run in the 9th inning’s final inning with the Houston Astros. The 27th of May Aaron Miles was placed on the DL The team was in need of someone to serve as a backup shortstop. Scales was sent to AAA Iowa Cubs. The next day, on May 28th, Scales was recalled from AAA Iowa because Ryan Freel was put in the list of disabled players. Scales was able to hit a pinch-hit home hit in the eighth inning in the bottom of the eighth off Dodgers player Randy Wolf.
