Bob Sindler is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on August 1, 1952 in Sumter, United States. Robert B. “Bob” Sindler (born August 1st 1952) is a Democratic politician who was in the Florida House of Representatives from 1988 until 1998, and also served on the Orange County Commission from 1998 to 2006. He is currently a presidential candidate to run for Florida Senate in 2016.
In the year that Sindler was seeking re-election for five and the final time as a legislator during 1996. He was challenged during the Democratic primaries by Carl Neidhart, a computer science professor in the University of Central Florida. Sindler focused on his legislative record and campaigned on behalf of public education, reforms to the criminal justice system as well as economic development, while Neidhart concentrated on his support for protecting the environment. The Sentinel supported Sindler in his bid to re-elect him, noting that, while he held some “disappointing” positions in the legislature however, the senator “ably represented his constituents,” and that his opponents were “not a viable option for voters.” Sindler won the Democratic primary by a huge margin winning eight-fourths of votes against Neidhart’s 16 percent.
Following Sindler’s unopposed re-election in 2002, he was deployed to Afghanistan as an officer in the United States Army Reserve, where he first worked as a veterinary officer before serving as a liaison between the military and Afghan government officials. Sindler declined to ask the Governor to appoint a temporary replacement during his service, instead opting to run his office by using his aides as proxies and through email.
In 2004, Sindler and his wife were arrested and charged with domestic battery. During an argument about their lawn, Sindler allegedly “made a rude comment to his wife,” who threw a water bottle at him, prompting Sindler to punch her in the chest. Ultimately, charges were dropped against Sindler and his wife.
Sindler was elected without opposition in the year 1990. In 1992 following the restructuring of the legislative districts of the state, Sindler ran for reelection within the 38th District which comprised most of the territory the district was his prior home and was subsequently expanded to include a few Mount Dora precincts in Lake County. He was up against Republican candidate Mike Birdsong, a former legislative assistant, and Libertarian candidate Mike Miller, a military veteran during the primary election. Sindler ran on the basis of its legislative track record which included he enacted legislation to enhance the prison system in the state and to address the issue of water quality in lakes. The campaign was marred by Birdsong. Birdsong criticized Sindler for his efforts to establish the Lake Apopka Habitat Restoration and Management Board the board, which some said “would add an unneeded level of bureaucracy.” The Sentinel has once more endorsed Sindler while criticizing Birdsong in a way that was “disappointing” and Miller as “way-out.” The Sentinel, while noting that Sindler was “too low key,” was awed by the “worthwhile contributions” in the legislative session. Sindler was elected to his third term with a huge margin, securing 53 percent of the vote, compared against Birdsong’s 43% and Miller’s 4 percent. in 1994 Sindler had to be fought for his re-election by Republican candidate Sunny Rinker, a businesswoman and widow of a TV anchor. The Sentinel endorsed him. Sentinel and the Sentinel declared him an “legislative mechanic…working industriously to make the engine of government run properly.” In the end, Sindler secured a fourth term against Rinker by a huge margin and won 54% of votes against her 46 percent.
