Bob Krause is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on January 15, 1950 in Algona, United States. Robert A. Krause (born on January 15 1950) is the current head of Veterans National Recovery Center, an 501(c)(3) charity. He was an former State Rep from Iowa and was a member of the Iowa General Assembly from 1973 until 1979. He was also a Regional Rep of Secretary of Transportation US Secretary of Transportation during the Carter Administration and was the past chair of the Iowa Democratic Veterans Caucus and as the former chairman of the Reserve Officers Association, Department of Iowa. He also was a member of the Waterloo (IA) school board.

Krause quit the House in the year he was elected to be Treasurer of his home state of the State of Iowa. Even though he was defeated the race, he finished 5 points better than the leading candidate. After a brief period at Land O’Lakes as transportation manager for the Agricultural Services Group, Bob was promoted to regional representative for the Secretary of Transportation in 1979. In this role he served as the top department officials responsible for Kansas, Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska and was also an the official spokesperson of the administration in federal matters.

Krause was a candidate for United States Senate from Iowa in the 2010 United States Senate election in Iowa. He lost the Democratic party primary to Roxanne Conlin who later lost in the Senate election against Charles Grassley. On Veterans Day, November 11, 2014, Krause again announced his intention to form an exploratory committee for a possible run against incumbent Senator from Iowa Charles Grassley.

As the Chair of the House Transportation Committee for four years, he assisted in the passing of legislation that permitted the establishment of integrated regional transit systems across Iowa that was later adopted as a model for national use by the Federal Transit Administration. He also devised an overhaul of the state’s roads that included the state’s first exemption for ethanol when it was passed and became the foundation for the ethanol industry in Iowa. Due to these efforts, among others related to his work, The Des Moines Register in 1978 named him among his “Top 10 Most Effective Iowa Legislators.”

Krause was born on a farm owned by his family in the rural northwest of Iowa, Krause graduated in 1968 from the Sentral Community School District in Fenton, Iowa. He was involved in the 4-H program, church, athletics, and was editor of the student newspaper.

Krause was a student at his time at the University of Iowa financing his education through a mixture of scholarship, work, and loans. He completed his studies in 1972 and earned an B.A. Degree in the field of political science. He was a part of ROTC and was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant with the Army Reserve in the summer of 1972. Krause was also a member of the student senate, and was the president of the University Democrats. In the summer Krause worked as railroad and construction laborer. He also worked for two summers with his Robert D. Fulton for Governor campaign of the Iowa Democratic Party.

Upon his return Krause then served as transit director for the Iowa Northland Council of Governments before joining the Iowa Department of Transportation in

1986. He served as a district planner then served as planning and coordination manager for the Public Transit Division. He also managed Iowa’s Rural and Large Urban Public Transit Intelligent Transportation System. He retired in 2008 from the Iowa DOT with 20 years of state government service, and served briefly as an advisor to the government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on transportation policy matters. From there he returned to Iowa to take a position with VSE Corporation, a small defense contractor. In that role, Krause concerned himself with the readiness of weapons and equipment for a five state Army Reserve command. He left that position in early 2015.
