Billy Kelleher (born 20 January 1968) is an Irish politician who has been a member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Ireland for the South constituency since July of 2019. Billy Kelleher is an Irish politician who is in Fianna Fail, part of Renew Europe. He previously was as Minister of State Trade and Commerce from 2009 to 2011 , and the Minister of State in charge in charge of Labour Affairs from 2007 to 2009. It was also a Teachta Dala (TD) for Cork’s North-Central region from 1997 until 2019. He also served as Senator from 1993 until 1997. He was elected to the position by Taoiseach.
He remained in his seat until the general election of 2011 although an opinion poll conducted by The Irish Times had predicted that he would be in danger being sacked from his post. He was elected again in the general election in 2016.
In 2009, he was the Minister of State with a special duty to Trade and Commerce from 2009 until 2011. He was previously Minister of State in charge of Labour Affairs from 2007 to 2009. He was also the Assistant Government Chief Whip.

He attended Sacred Heart College, Carrignavar, County Cork and Agricultural College Pallaskenrey. County Limerick. He was not a successful candidate in the general election in 1992 but was nominated by Taoiseach Albert Reynolds to the 20th Seanad in 1993. Kelleher got his first vote for Dail Eireann at the 1997 general election. He remained in his seat during the 2002, 2007, 2011, and 2016 general elections.
In January of 2006, Kelleher became embroiled in minor controversy after he was spotted speeding through Cashel, County Tipperary on his journey towards Leinster House in Dublin. He was fined and he received two points of penalty on his driver’s license. The incident was ironic since it occurred during the same week that the government was under fire due to inadequate statistics on road safety.
