William Oliver Roe II (February 6 1958 – – September 13th the 13th of September, 2003) was an American football linebacker from the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. Additionally, he was a part of the Boston Breakers, Memphis Showboats and Birmingham Stallions in the United States Football League. He played in the NCAA football tournament on The University of Colorado.

On January 3, 1983 He signed with his team, the Denver Gold of the United States Football League The Denver Gold traded him and his rights as Dick Jauron to the Boston Breakers in February with the intention of acquiring rights for Tom Davis and an eighth round draft pick. The Breakers chose him as their primary inside linebacker.

After the players went on a strike on the third week of the 1987 season, those contests were canceled (reducing the 16 game season to 15) and the NFL decided that the games would be played with replacement players. Roe was signed to be a part of the New Orleans Saints replacement team, that was given the mock name “Saint Elsewheres” by the media. He went on to start all three games at linebacker, before being released once the strike ended.

The 24th of August, 1981 He was put on the reserve for injured because of an ankle injury. His release was on the 3rd of September in 1982.
