William “Bill” Grant (born 14 August 1951) is a Scottish Conservative Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock UK Constituency in the Parliament from June 2017 until November 2019.

Grant gave his inaugural speech in members of the UK House of Commons on 3 July 2017. After his initial year of Parliament, Bill Grant spoke in 90 debates and cast 266 votes out of 284 (93.7 percent) in the House of Commons, far over the average for MPs. In this time, Bill Grant only rebelled against his party only once during the selection to Sir Ian Kennedy as Electoral Commissioner.

Bill Grant was first elected as an Conservative councillor on the South Ayrshire Council in 2007 Council elections. He was elected as one of the four councillors from Ayr West. Ayr West ward. Corri Wilson, winning 18,550 votes (40.1 percent) in front of SNP’s Corri Wilson who had 15,776 votes (34.1 percent) With a 2774 vote (6.0 percent) majority on the basis of a 17.5 percentage shift in the direction of Corri Wilson’s SNP towards the Conservatives.

During his time as a councillor for Ayr West, Bill Grant was well known to be found picking up litter in Ayr over the weekends. In March 2018, Bill Grant performed a citizens arrest in Bridges Bar, Ayr, while out for a drink against a man responsible for physically assaulting the landlord of the pub.
