Big Lean is one of the most popular and richest Songwriter who was born on February 11, 1989 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Lorenzo Lee-Jae Wright, born the 11th of February 1989 being raised at Parma Court which is located in the Scarborough region located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Both of his parents were Jamaican immigrants, and he was among three children. He was solely cared for by his mother following the split of his parents when he was a kid. Lorenzo was given the name “Lean” as a child when a friend of his confused his mother’s name with “Lee”, a shortened version of his middle name “Lee-Jae.” Lorenzo was later able to choose the name “Big Lean” as his stage name. Lean has said that his mom was extremely positive in his life and advised him that he could achieve whatever he wants and effort into.

Big Lean began making music at the age of 19 just two years following the time his rapper friend Blits (Kareme Parks) was shot dead because the rapper believed that he had to continue the legacy of his friend. Lean began to release a variety of tracks and freestyles to no success. Lean released his first mixtape I’m Here On the 25th of November, 2010 which featured a majority all production work was done by Boi-1da as well as a vocal track by Belly. It also included production by his childhood acquaintance “Yung Tony” now known as OVO Hush, who is a common acquaintance of Drake.

He released the single “My Lifestyle” on December 27, 2012, and featured Chief Keef. The following year, he released the single “Too much for TV” featuring Juicy J and the single “Squeeze” featuring Chinx Drugz with a music video released on September 6, 2013. All singles went on to be featured on his third mixtape mixtape “Can’t Stop Now” was released on July 15, 2013.

He subsequently released his third mixtape Can’t Stop Now in 2014 with features from Chief Keef, Juicy J and Chinx Drugz and his debut album Enough is Enough was released in 2015 with features from Nipsey Hussle, Juelz Santana and was executively produced by Lean’s longtime friend, Boi-1da. The album received a 7/10 rating by Exclaim!.

In the year 2010, Big Lean founded his own independent record label Da Degrees (formerly known as 380 Degrees) with long time pal Joel Anthony Alexander (stage name; Lotto Max). Lean is self-signed to the label and has released all his mixtapes as well as albums on the label. Other artists who are signed with the label are Lean’s former acquaintance as well as the rapper R.O.Z., more recent artists who signed with the label include Ryda which has been added on the roster since the year 2018. Lean has said that it is crucial that Toronto artists to take an “for us by us” method of gaining support, and, often, the need for a co-signer is essential in order for them to establish their position. Lean would like to see that people who enjoy Toronto music will remember that they have had to go through this and are living what they sing.

The Lorenzo Lee-Jae Wright (born on the 11th of February, 1989) is better known as the nickname, Big Lean, is a Canadian musician and rapper who hails from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Lean started his music career in 2008, just two years following the death of his friend and rapper Blits was killed as he believed he had to continue the legacy of his friend. Lean was noticed in 2011 after being included on the track “Reality” by DJ Charlie Brown and released with fellow Toronto musicians P. He also released his debut single “You Got It Good” on March 22,

2011. Big Lean dropped his sophomore mixtape Something Gotta Give in October 11, 2011. It featured guest appearances from R.O.Z. and Sizzla, and Boi-1da served as executive producer of the album.
