Jones who suffers from cerebral palsy, began playing sports for the sake of representing when she was a cricket player for Wales and was in the team that defeated England at Lords in 1996. The athletics program was first introduced at the Wrexham Sports Club for the Disabled in 1997, and started participating in sprint events in 1998. The year 2000 saw her chosen to be part of to be part of the Great Britain team at the Summer Paralympics where she competed on the T38 sprint. She placed fourth in 100m race and eighth in 200m.

In the year 2011, Jones was a representative of Great Britain in both the discus and shot during the IPC Athletics World Championships in New Zealand. She set an European record in the discus with 30.62m however, she was not able to surpass Na Mi of China, and came in second and took silver.

Jones qualified for the 2016 Paralympic Games in F37 discus and placed 5th with a throw of 28.53m.

In 2008, following the Paralympics at Beijing, Jones began concentrating on throwing events, specifically the shot put and discus. Jones qualified for the two events at China and placed fifth in T37 Shot Put T37 shot Put while 7th at the T37 discus, with the European record of 27.27m. 5th place in the shot put was a result of Jones throw her personal record of 10.35m.

Beverley Jones (born 17 October 1974) is a Paralympian from Wales competing in the category F37 throws. Jones was awarded the bronze medal during the 2006 Commonwealth Games as an EAD in the 100m sprint. Jones has been a qualified athlete for four Summer Paralympics from 2000 until 2012 and finished fourth twice, at the 2000 sprint in Sydney along with the shot throw at Athens in 2004.

In 2004, Jones was selected again to her place on the Great Britain Paralympic team for the Summer games in Athens This time she qualified as F38 for the mixed F37/38 shot throw, and finishing just outside the medals , in fourth spot. She was upgraded to the more prestigious handicap grade of F37 following the competition. At the 2005 CP World Championships in Connecticut, USA she took gold in the shot throw, 200m and 100m sprints. In 2006, at the IPC World Athletics Championships in Assen, Netherlands, she achieved an F37 shot put record in the world of 10.57m. Jones continued to combine her shot put and the sprint when she was selected to represent Wales in the 2006 Commonwealth Games. After 2002’s Manchester Games in 2002, the Commonwealth Games had introduced a restricted number of events for athletes who have disabilities. The sole T37 sport at the Games included women’s sprinting for which Jones qualifiedand took home the bronze medal at the end of the competition.

2012 saw Jones qualify for Great Britain at her fourth Paralympic Games, on this occasion in the F37 shot put and the F37 discus at London. In her first event, the shot put, she threw 9.85m to end in seventh place. Later in the Games, on 6 September at the London Olympic Stadium, she recorded a distance of 30.99m in the discus which gave Jones a bronze medal, her first Paralympic podium finish.
