Murdoch-Masila played in junior football alongside Otahuhu Black. He was awarded a scholarship by Wests Tigers at Keebra Park High School and was a player on the team which took home the 2009 Arrive Alive Cup. Murdoch-Masila’s weight was 150 kg when he first arrived in Keebra Park, dropping 40 pounds before joining with the Wests Tigers NYC team.
