Weathers went on to sing as a co-lead vocalist on the band’s 1985 album As the Band Turns. As The Band Turns was certified Gold in the US by the RIAA.
A single entitled as “Always” got to No. 1 on the Billboard’s Hot 100, Hot R&B Songs and Adult Contemporary Songs charts respectively. Weathers eventually left Atlantic Starr in 1987 to pursue a solo career.
