In December 2005 she was unable to miss her chance to directly qualify to compete in to compete in 2006’s Winter Olympics, finishing behind several other competitors at 1200 and 1000 meters. At the end of the course, she was nevertheless selected for the Dutch Speed Skating Association due to her world championship that year. She was granted the opportunity to skate off together with Paulien van Deutekom, who placed 4th in the Dutch Single Distance Championship, where the qualification was held. De Loor won the confrontation and was then qualified for her 2nd Olympics. In Turin during the Olympics she was close to winning a medal again, however this time she finished sixth. Following the Olympics she was a participant at the Speed Skating World Cup meeting in Heerenveen which saw her finish fifth in the 1500m race. This was the final race of her career.
De Loor was able to qualify at the time of the 2003 World Single Distance Championships on two distances. She placed 8th over 5000 meters, and fourth in 1500 meters. She missed out on a medal again. The following year, with the same course, and in the same championship, she was again 4th and 5th in the European All-around Championships. She was 4th in the 1500 race at the World Single Distance Championships for the third consecutive year. However, it was the year that she achieved her greatest accomplishment in her career when she was crowned her first World Champion over 1000 meters in the same race she finished in front to Anni Friesinger, and Marianne Timmer to claim the gold medal.

De Loor will be known throughout history for her talent as a skater who frequently ended up in the middle of medals, which had already began during her junior years, when she was placed 6th and 4th during the World Junior Championships in 1992 and 1993, respectively. Then, a couple of years later, after she made the transition to the senior level, she qualified at the all- around world championships, and ended up in 9th place. The same year, she also achieved two top-10 positions in the World Single Distance Championships, as she raced over 3 distances (8th between 3000 and 5500 m, and eleventh in 1500m over 3000 meters). It was also the year she won her first international medal when she finished third on the podium at the European All-around Championships, claiming the bronze medal.
In 1998, she placed sixth in the European All-around Championship, she also qualified for her debut Olympics at that of the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano in Japan, where she competed at the 1500 and the 5000 meters. The 22nd place finish in the 1500 meters proved not a victory, but she stunned the world by securing a fourth place at the 5000 meters, coming just short of the medals. This trend set the standard in 1999, she was 4th in 3000 meters, and fifth over 5000 meters in the World Single Distance Championships. She also placed fifth in the European All-around Championships and sixth at the World All- around Championships. The year 2000 was the time she could not be able to match the level of competition However, she was back at the top of her game in 2001, finishing in fourth place at the European Championships, and a 5th in the World All-around Championships. In 2006 De Loor participated alongside professional dancer Marcus van Teijlingen in the Dutch version of Dancing with the Stars and won the competition. After that she appeared on several other television programs such as De Afvallers and De Afvallers met Sterren, as well as with a program named Nederlanders in Ontwikkeling.
