In 2010, he was a professor in the department of applied music at Seoul Arts College. In 2012, he reunited with Sinawe to participate in MBC’s I Am a Singer 2. From 2013 to 2014, he also appeared on KBS’s Immortal Songs 2.

From 1995 to 1999, he was the fifth vocalist of Korean rock band Sinawe. In 2003, he formed the rock band Butterfly Effect, which disbanded in 2007. That same year, he became the vocalist of The Ratios, an electronic rock band. In 2009, Kim formed Art Of Parties, and in 2013 released his first solo album, N.Surf part 1.
