Ayaka Yoshimura Biography

Ayaka Yoshimura is one of the most popular and richest Singer- Songwriter who was born on September 22, 1990 in Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. In the Avex Auditions 2002, five twelve-year-old girls were chosen from of 15 finalists to form an all-girl group which was planned in conjunction with TV Tokyo’s variety program Platinum Ticket. The group first appeared at the A-nation’s ’03 Avex Summer Festival on April 12 on the 12th of April, 2003. The following day, on August 27 they released their first track, “Lolita Strawberry in Summer” as the fourth theme for Monkey Typhoon. The track was written by Bounceback, who has previously composed music to BoA as well as Ayumi Hamasaki. On the 19th of November 2003 Sweets came out with their new single “Love Raspberry Juice” that was used as the title song for advertising for the video Game Tokyo Friend Park II: Friend Park e Asobi ni Iko It was a huge success! 100 girls were featured as characters on the video. In the year 2003 Sweets worked together with Dream as well as Fruits Punch as the supergroup Girl’s Box to release the single”1st X’mas.

On February 2nd on the 2nd of February, 2005 Sweets came out with the A-side double single “Countdown” / “Our Song (Wakare no Toki )”,, that was followed by The release of their second mini-album”Keep On Movin”, on February 23rd the 23rd of February, 2005. “Mienai Tsubasa” was released on June 1st on the 1st of June, 2005. This music clip, along with their DVD behind the scenes Wings of My Heart, were recorded in Hawaii. A few members fell ill while filming due to the rain.

On the 10th of August in 2005, Sweets came out with their eighth track “Earthship (Uchusen Chikyugo)” and was followed by their first concert tour, named after the track, which included three performances at Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo. Following touring, the group played at A-nation’05 and then released their first book of photos, Sweets #1. Following that, Aki and Aya went off the road from September 2005 until April 2006 to concentrate on their high school entrance examinations. Three members of the group continued to tour their music without the duo they released “On the Way (Yakusoku no Basho e)” as their ninth single. On the 5th of October 2005, Sweets released their first studio album entitled Five Elements. On the 16th of November, the year 2005 was when Sweets worked on a single with Dream, Nao Nagasawa, Nanase Hoshii, Aiko Kayo, Paradise Go! Go!, and Michi Saito on Girl’s Box’s 3rd Christmas- themed single.

Sweets (suitsu Suitsu often referred to in SweetS) was a Japanese girl group that was formed through Avex Trax in 2003. The group consists of 5 girls: Aki, Aya, Haruna, Miori, and Mai. The group was formed in 2003 with the single “Lolita Strawberry in Summer” and then released in 2004 the track “Love Like Candy Floss.” While still active as the group, Sweets was also part of the supergroup Girl’s Box along with other Avex artists. In the course of three years, Sweets stopped active, Sweets disbanded in 2006.

Sweets Third single, “Love Like Candy Floss” it was released on February 11, 2004, as the theme tune for the commercial for the bakery of Circle K. The theme of the song could be defined in the context of “falling in love with a friend.” It was shot in Nagano which makes it one of the very first music videos to be shot in a non-studio setting, being described by the label “drama-like”, featuring Haruna looking after the footsteps of an old man. The music video was aired on the TV series Pop Jam for four weeks. On March 3, 2004, Sweets released their first mini album, Sweets. On June 16, 2004 the band released their 4th single a triple-A-side with the title “Growin’ into Shinin'” or “Never Ending Story” / “Shochu Omimai Moshiagemasu.” The track “Growin’ into Shinin’ Stars” was the official song of cheering for the Yomiuri Giants beginning April 2004; “Never Ending Story” was the theme song that ended to the variety program Doubutsu Kisou Tenkai from April until September 2004 “Shochu Omimai Moshiagemasu”, an original cover from the Candies song with the same title and was chosen as the theme song of the promotion campaign. On November 3, 2004, Sweets released the song “Sky” as the ending theme to Genseishin’s Justirisers. In the final week of 2004, Sweets was voted number one by the publication CD-Data. In the following year, Sweets participated in a second Christmas-themed single featuring Dream Aiko Kayo and Aiko Kayo. It was came out on December 1, 2004.

Aki and Aya returned from hiatus, and Sweets released the single “Bitter Sweets” on March 23, 2006. During a promotional event at Tokyo Dome City Hall on March 26, 2006, all five members of Sweets announced that they were disbanding, citing interest in different career paths, as well as Aki and Aya retiring to focus on high school. Afterwards, on June 7, 2006, they released “Color of Tears” as their final single along with Hi Ma’am, their “graduation” photo book, and Precious Memories, their final behind-the-scenes DVD.
