Arthur Barrow is one of the most popular and richest Musician who was born on February 28, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Barrow was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1952. He was raised in a neighborhood that was known as Alamo Heights. His father played the piano and organ as did the father of his, Arthur Barrow of Buffalo, New York, a very strict organist and piano teacher. When he was 13 He washed cars in the neighborhood until he was able to save enough money to purchase the first guitar with an electric motor (an Alamo) and his first amplifier (a Kent). He was taught how to play by listening to the surf guitar music of The Ventures, and later, Jimi Hendrix, and further on, Frank Zappa. He was a member of local bands during high school and junior high in the 1960s. He began studying classical organ in the year 1970.

In mid-1978, he was able to pass the test and started playing the bass for Frank Zappa’s band. He joined the band in 1979. assumed the role of”clonemeister,” or “clonemeister”, or band rehearsal director. The band would practice for between eight and every day for ten hours all week long, every day. He was the one who ran the rehearsals during the first portion of the day. Zappa was in charge as he was on the scene. He toured with Zappa and is heard playing guitar, bass and keyboards on 12 albums recorded.

In the early 1980s he co-wrote music, recorded and toured the U.S. with Robby Krieger. They had a live band then for a short time called Red Shift that did only a few recordings and gigs in the LA area. By this time, having a 1/2″ eight track tape recorder, an electric piano and some synthesizer gear, he focused a lot of attention to writing and recording music at home.

He opened his own Lotek recording studio in the Mar Vista district of Los Angeles in 1985. Through the latter 1980s and into the 1990s he has produced albums and composed sound tracks for films and television at his studio. He has composed and produced three solo CDs and he is currently working on a fourth CD as well as other projects, like the Strange News from Mars – feat. Tommy Mars and Jon Larsen, and The Mar Vista Philharmonic, featuring Tommy Mars, Bruce Fowler, Vinnie Colaiuta, and other Frank Zappa alumni, on the Zonic Entertainment label.

In 1975, he moved from the city of Los Angeles to pursue a professional career in music as well as one of his primary goals being to join the Frank Zappa band. He did whatever musical opportunities he could such as weddings, nightclubs as well as high school dances several sessions. He came across Robby Krieger in the year 1976 and recorded synthesizers together with The Doors on the album American Prayer. He formed a jazz band together with Bruce Fowler and Don Preston named Loose Connection in the latter 1970s. They recorded a few songs within Echo Park and performed a couple of occasions at Los Angeles. They recorded a few songs at Hollywood together with Vinnie Colaiuta in December 1978.

Arthur Barrow (born February 28 1952 in San Antonio, Texas) is a multi- instrumental performer, famous for his work as a bass guitarist in the band of Frank Zappa in the late 1970s and into the early 1980s.

He was a student at North Texas State University (now University of North Texas) in Denton, Texas from 1971 until 1975. There he learned music composition as well as organ. He started teaching his own bass guitar when he was in school. He would spend a lot of time in the electronic music labs , learning about analog synthesis with the Moog modular systems that were there. He graduated with a cum laude degree and received the degree of bachelor of music with a concentration in composition. He also specialized on electronic music.

He began working with Giorgio Moroder in the mid-1980s on albums and film sound tracks, including Scarface (1983) and Top Gun (1986). He did keyboards, programming, bass, and arranging for a wide range of artists including Joe Cocker, Diana Ross, Billy Idol, Berlin, The Motels, and others.
