In December 2002, an independent publishing house Meteor Books, owned by Bhagbat Chakraborty, released Chatterjee’s work under its subtitle Mother Teresa: The Final Verdict. In 2016 , the book was published again under a brand new title: Mother Teresa: The Untold story by Fingerprint! publishers following the acquisition through literary agent Kanishka Gupta. The book focuses on her life and success after the film Something Beautiful for God by Malcolm Muggeridge, the Calcutta home for people dying and the ways of its management as well as the non-consensual death bed ceremonies of Hindus and Muslims and the inhumane hygienic methods used in the homes managed by her her small connections to Kolkata and the rest of the world, as well as the massive sum of money donated to the charity, but never put into Nirmal Hriday. The author also discusses the awarding of her Nobel Peace Prize and the speech where she claimed she saved tens of thousands poor people. Aroup Chatterjee (born 23 June 1958) is an British Indian author and physician. The Indian was raised in Calcutta and relocated from India to his home in the United Kingdom in 1985. The author is Mother Teresa: The Untold story (originally published under the title Mother Teresa: The Final Verdict) The book is a piece which challenges the prevailing view to Mother Teresa as a symbol of selflessness and charity.

In the late 1990s, he began to unravel the “cult of suffering” which Mother Teresa and her followers within the Missionaries of Charity were running back in Calcutta with the help of her friends Pope John Paul II. In February 1993, Chatterjee made a suggestion for a documentary of a brief length for Vanya Del Borgo, the associate producer at Bandung Productions which was owned by Tariq Ali. The proposal was then referred to an Channel 4 commissioner who approved the proposal as did Del Borgo with Chatterjee’s proposal began working, and contacted the journalist and author Christopher Hitchens to write and present the film. The documentary was later made into the film of 1994 Hell’s Angel. Chatterjee was not a fan of the film and found it “too sensationalist” and Hitchens was later inspired to write his novel”The Missionary Position. Chatterjee continued to spend the next year traveling and interviewing those who had been closely associated in the ministry of Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity and then began to protest against the conditions at Nirmal Hriday, also known as the Kalighat Home for the Dying in Calcutta. He heard stories of poor hygiene as well as the absence of pain medication , and the constant repetition of needles for hypodermic use. Chatterjee then began to write the book which was published through Meteor Books in 2002 under the name Mother Teresa: The Final Verdict. Chatterjee adds to the many hours of conversations, “I started in pre Internet days and I spent months in libraries in London. The documentary was written by a well-known critic of Mother Teresa, Christopher Hitchens, who co-produced it with journalist and filmmaker Tariq Ali. Chatterjee and Hitchens were the two Devil’s advocates, or hostile witnesses to Catholic Church procedures for the beatification of Mother Teresa in 2003.
