Arfa Karim is one of the most popular and richest Computer Scientist who was born on February 2, 1995 in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. Arfa Abdul Karim Randhawa (Urdu: rfh Khrym Rndhw 2 February 1995 14 January 2012) was a Pakistani student and computer genius who, at nine years old was one of the most youthful Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). She is listed on the Guinness Book of World Records. Arfa retained the title until her death in 2008 and then began to represent Pakistan at different international forums, such as that of the TechEd Developers Conference. She was also awarded the President’s Award for Pride of Performance in 2005. A science park located in Lahore the Arfa Software Technology Park was named in her honor. Her invitation came from Bill Gates to visit Microsoft Headquarters in the United States. She passed away on the 14th of January 2012, aged 16 after an cardiac arrest.
In 2011 when she was 16 Arfa was enrolled at her school at the Lahore Grammar School Paragon Campus during the second semester of her A-levels. On the 22nd December of 2011 she experienced a cardiac arrest as a result of an epileptic seizures that caused brain damage and was taken in the Lahore’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in critical situation.
Arfa died at a hospital in Lahore on 14 January 2012, aged 16. Her funeral, which was held on the following day, was attended by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif. She was buried in her ancestral village Chak No. 4JB Ram Dewali, Faisalabad.
On 13 January 2012, Arfa started to improve, and some parts of her brain showed signs of improvement. Her father, Amjad Abdul Karim Randhawa, said Microsoft had raised the possibility of flying Arfa to the U.S. for care.
When she returned from the US her image became a household name in Pakistan. She was featured on various channels, and was invited to numerous international summits and conferences, and was awarded awards by the Prime Minister and President of Pakistan. She is, in particular, the youngest winner from the Pride of Performance award in Pakistan. in 2006 Microsoft offered her the honor of being the speaker for the Tech-Ed developer conference hosted in Barcelona.

Arfa was a representative of Pakistan in various international forums she was also invited by Pakistan Information Technology Professionals Forum to stay for 2 weeks at Dubai. A dinner reception was held by the forum for her, and was attended by prominent figures of Dubai as well as Pakistan’s Ambassador. Pakistan. In the course of that trip, Arfa was presented with several awards and presents such as laptops. In November of 2006, Arfa went to an event called the Tech-Ed Developers conference themed Get ahead of the game in Barcelona upon invitation from Microsoft. Arfa was the only Pakistani in the midst of more than the 5000 developers who attended the conference.
Arfa Software Technology Park is the Country’s largest Information and Communications Technology Park. This seventeen story building is the first international standard facility in Pakistan, and it is located in Lahore. This project was started under the name “Lahore Technology Park”, and on 15 January 2012, it was renamed as “Arfa Software Technology Park” by Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) will help share the Government of Punjab’s IT vision with the IT industry and the general public.
