He was a co-founder in 2006 when he founded Repliqa, an Internet discovery company, Repliqa, that was bought from indiePub Entertainment. He was appointed an Associate Scholar of Mercatus and, in the year 2015 in 2015, an Strata Research Fellow. In both of these positions Davies conducts research on the economic impact of policy decisions made by government. As an Mercatus Scholar, Davies regularly gives talks on economic policy issues for the staff of House of Representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives.

As a student at college In the course of his studies, he co-founded Paragon Software with Mark E. Seremet. Davies’s first job as a faculty member came in West Virginia Wesleyan College, in the following years, he taught economics for a year at West Virginia University. In the era of the dot-com boom when he quit academia, he went on to be chief financial officer and CFO at Parabon Computation, where he was co-inventor of an invention that generates supercomputing capacity from idle Internet-connected computers. He was also the recipient of an NASA grant to develop statistical methods to mine data with supercomputers. After 2001, the researcher was a part of the faculty of Duquesne University where he helped develop the economics degree which he is continuing to work as a professor at present.

Davies was born in Savannah, Georgia to Alan Davies and Margaret Davies. He grew up within Montoursville, Pennsylvania and graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1983. From a young age, he began acting in his local Community Theatre League. He earned cum laude, an B.S. Starting in 2012, he produced a series of videos on economics and statistics for the Institute for Humane Studies, the Foundation for Economic Education, and Certell. In 2015, he worked as Associate Producer for the Moving Picture Institute on their video series, FI$H: How An Economy Grows. Davies is a long- time faculty member at the Institute for Humane Studies and the Foundation for Economic Education.
