Her maternal grandmother was Geraldine Mackeson-Sandbach. an important land owner located in North Wales, whose estates included Hafodunos close to Abergele in Abergele and Bryngwyn Hall near Llanfyllin. The mother of her child, Anne Marie Antoinette of the Dutch Van Lanschot clan, got married to Ian Mackeson- Sandbach in the year 1967.

During her time in Assembly the position was promoted to Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs. The year 2014 saw her being named to the position of Shadow Minister in the Environment. Sandbach also served in the assembly’s Environment and Sustainability Committee.

In March 2015, Sandbach was selected as the Conservative Party candidate for the Conservative-held seat of Eddisbury in Cheshire, England. She held the safe Conservative seat with a majority of nearly 13,000, and promptly resigned from the Welsh Assembly, to be succeeded by Janet Haworth.

Sandbach supported the United Kingdom remaining within the European Union (EU) in the 2016 EU membership referendum. In the referendum, the UK voted to leave the EU (Brexit). She retained the Eddisbury seat at the 2017 United Kingdom general election, with a majority of 11,942.

At the time of 2007’s Welsh Assembly election, Sandbach contests the seat of the Labour-held Delyn. She lost, but managed an increase of 3.7 percent between Labour in favour of Conservative and Labour only won the seat with just 511 votes. Sandbach was a candidate for the Delyn seat during the general election of 2010 and lost however she managed to secure a greater swing of 6.7 percent in the direction of Labour in favour of Conservative. Following the demise of Brynle Williams in 2011, she was elected the Conservative regional Assembly Representative to represent North Wales.

Antoinette Gerardine Mackeson-Sandbach (born 15 Feb 1969) was is also known by the name Antoinette Sandbach, is a former British politician who was elected the MP of Eddisbury in Cheshire during the general election of 2015. The next day, May 8, 2015, she announced her resignation as the Welsh Assembly Member for the North Wales region, having been elected as an North Wales regional Assembly Member in the May election of 2011. After being elected initially by virtue of being the Conservative, Sandbach had the Conservative whip taken away on the 3rd of September, 2019, and then lost a vote of confidence from the Eddisbury Conservative Association. After being re-elected to the seat of Conservative, Antoinette Sandbach chose later to change her party to Liberal Democrat. She was defeated by her former party during the general election in 2019.

The daughter of Sandbach Sacha is due to be born on the 22nd of February 2002, but she divorced from her father in 2003, and relocated back to her estate, which she did in the year 2005. She lost her son of five days, Sam, to SIDS in 2009, and then got married to Matthew Sherratt, a sculptor in 2012.

One of her main policy interests is improving services for those who suffer the loss of a baby. Following a debate in the House of Commons in November 2015, she helped set up the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Baby Loss, of which she was also appointed co-chair. Since its formation the group has made recommendations to the Department of Health and has been working closely with Ministers to improve policy in this area.
